MTFL 13 results: Dalian Dawody crowned new super middleweight champion

History was made at Fröding Arena in Karlstad as the beloved hometown hero “Deadly” Dalian Dawody scored another huge win – this time securing super middleweight gold in the MTFL 13 main event.

Hometown hero and newly crowned world Muay Thai champion “Deadly” Dalian Dawody will compete for the vacant super middleweight title in the main event. Across from him stands the grizzled and highly credentialled Argentinian Braian Allevato.

Dawody is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently adding to it with a second round KO win over Hadji Bubu Ndow at MTFL 12. Allevato was supposed to compete at MTFL 6 against Anton Sjöqvist but was forced out due to injury. Aside from being an IFMA South American Muay Thai Champion and Pan American silver medalist, Allevato has also won numerous pro titles in respected European promotions.

The co-main event gave the fans exactly what they wanted as Sam Wingqvist and Wittaya “Fluck” Thawinprai battled it out in what many saw as the “Fight of the Night”. Both fighters had their moments but at the end Wingqvist got the judges nod.

In other noteworthy bouts: heavyweights Zvonimir Kralj and Faris Lukovic battled it out for three bloody round, with newcomer Lukovic getting the win in the thrilling bout. Kralj asked for a rematch afterwards, something Lukovic was open for, Swedish Muay Thai champion Antonia Drevenlid edged out a game Aysha Medina in a battle between Sweden and Norway andKarlstad own Nils Olsson made an incredible impression in his MTFL debut with a second round TKO victory over Anders Kalbakk Böhler.
